Public Transport Authority (Denmark)

The Public Transport Authority (Danish: Trafikstyrelsen) is a Danish government agency responsible for regulating, planning and safety relating to rail and public transport in Denmark. A subsidiary of the Ministry of Transport, the agency acts as the Danish railway authority, responsible for regulation, planning, safety, and domestic and international coordination. The agency also acts as an advisor towards the ministry related to policy and strategic development in transport. It further acts as the administrator of the government's procurement of ferry and rail transport through public service obligations, it administrates the training of train drivers and collects and publishes statistics related to rail transport. The agency was established in 1 July 2003.[1]
